Avenged Sevenfold Hold Their Own
Avenged Sevenfold is opening for metal royalty this summer and they say they're up to the challenge. Singer M. Shadows says in a new update that they knew when they took the tour, it would not be easy opening for Iron Maiden's dedicated fans. The vocalist says they had heard the horror stories of acts playing with their backs to the crowd so as not to get hit and fans of the legendary rock group bottling opening acts with jars of urine, but when they hit the stage in Italy they were greeted with audience members chanting their name. Shadows tells their fans not to get upset when attending the Iron Maiden shows if people just don't understand their band. He says it's just that they are not a straight-up metal act and aren't particularly catering to Iron Maiden's audience. But, by staying true to their own vision, they've been able to create their own dedicated fan base.
