Syd Barrett UK Tribute Developing
The late Syd Barrett will be honored with a number of events. "The City Wakes" tribute is expected to include a concert, art exhibits, guided tours, a music workshop, and other activities in tribute to the founding Pink Floyd member. The concert is slated to feature a video and light display to accompany Barrett's music, while the show's musical director will also conduct a workshop delving into Barrett's songs, both musically and lyrically. Two exhibits are being developed -- one of the classic rocker's own paintings, while the other, "Mind Over Matter: Images of Pink Floyd," boasts the photographs of Storm Thorgerson. Guided tours will take fans to Pink Floyd-related landmarks in Barrett's hometown of Cambridge, England. A new book, with interviews with Barrett's family and friends along with some of his drawings and letters -- which haven't ever before been published, is also in the works.
