Warped Names Eco Winners
The Vans Warped Tour continues to encourage their participants to take part in the trek's eco initiatives, and some of the acts are reaping the benefits. Congrats to Alesana, one of the winners of the tour's eco competition. For their efforts, they will travel to the EarthEcho International Eco Adventure in St. Croix October 10th-13th, where they will meet up with a winner from Salt Lake City, a student winner from Stanford University, and an Epitaph Records contest winner. The Color Fred and The A.K.A.'s were also winners of eco challenges during the tour, but are unable to make the scheduled trip. Tour founder Kevin Lyman says each year the trek tries to improve upon their eco efforts. This marks the first time that bands have shown up for the trek asking where their recycling bins were for their touring vehicles, so the message is finally getting through. |
