Vanunu had been convicted of revealing Israel's nuclear secrets to the press. In 1998 Joey Ramone, Guns N' Roses' Slash, and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen were among those making guest appearances on "The Drew Carey Show." The plotline involved these guys auditioning to be the lead guitarist in Drew's band. Former Dead Kennedys members guitarist East Bay Ray, bassist Klaus Flouride, and drummer D.H. Peligro agreed to split from Alternative Tentacles Records, a label established by DK's frontman Jello Biafra in 1983. The trio said they'd been unable to settle claims of royalty underpayments with the label. Biafra wasn't at the meeting in which the vote was taken. Metallica appeared on "The Jane Pauley Show." In 2006 John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Jerry Lee Lewis, Los Lonely Boys, and Willie Nelson were among the performers at Farm Aid 2006 in Camden, New Jersey. Arlo Guthrie was also expected to take part in the event, but was forced to drop out of the lineup for undisclosed health reasons. Jet was forced to cancel a concert in Toronto because frontman Nic Cester had laryngitis.<
