CMA Announces Blockbuster Lineup of Awards Show Performers
Some of country's hottest performers will take the stage for the 42nd Annual Country Music Association Awards show on November 12th. Reigning Entertainer of the Year and leading nominee Kenny Chesney will perform. He's up for seven awards, including Entertainer of the Year. Chesney has won that award three times. Miranda Lambert is also slated to perform. She's up for Female Vocalist and Song of the Year for her single "Gunpowder and Lead." Miranda says she loves taking the stage.
Other artists expected to perform include superduo Brooks and Dunn, who have won a record 19 CMA awards. This year they're nominated in the Vocal Duo and Album of the Year categories. Four-time nominee Alan Jackson is also scheduled to perform. He has a career-spanning record 79 CMA nominations. Fellow male vocalist nominee George Strait will also sing as part of "Country Music's Biggest Night." The Country Music Hall of Famer is nominated in five categories this year. Reigning Vocal Duo Sugarland is nominated in five categories, including Entertainer of the Year. Aussie sensation Keith Urban is also a finalist in that prestigious category. He and first time Female Vocalist nominee Taylor Swift are both scheduled to perform as part of the three-hour, star-studded broadcast. The CMA Awards will be broadcast live November 12th from Nashville on ABC. |
