Meat Loaf's "Bat" Receives Special Award At London Ceremony
Veteran rocker Meat Loaf is being honored for his epic hit "Bat Out Of Hell." According to BBC News, Meat will receive a special golden award at next week's Q Awards in London. Meat says he's honored that his almost ten-minute long song is gaining recognition. After it's U.K. release in 1979, "Bat Out Of Hell" managed to secure a spot on the charts for nearly nine years. More than 40-million copies of the hit sold worldwide.
Meat Loaf's Q Award honor comes amid some recent health scares for the rocker. Back in 2003, he underwent surgery for an irregular heartbeat after he collapsed on stage. In 2007, he cancelled concerts after discovering a cyst on his vocal chord. |
