Brit Tries To Ban Chuck Berry Performance
A British man is trying to stop legendary rocker Chuck Berry from performing in his hometown. According to Britain's "The Star," Ray Nortrop plans to petition against Berry's performance in Doncaster because of his past criminal convictions. In particular, Nortrop brings up Berry's prison sentences which he says range from armed robbery and child sex convictions. He compares Berry to glam rocker Gary Glitter, adding that no one in Doncaster would attend if Glitter was headlining. Berry is slated to perform at The Dome venue on November 23rd. Chief executive at The Dome, Gavin Baldwin, says Berry has performed all over the U.K. and played for a sold out crowd at The Dome back in 1993.
