Billy Bob Thornton And Band To Host Country Music Hall Of Fame Benefit
Actor Billy Bob Thornton and his band, the Boxmasters, will host a special New York City concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame. The second annual "All for the Hall" benefit show is November 15th at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square. The old-fashioned Nashville-style "Guitar Pull" will feature songs, stories and unique musical collaborations from iconic entertainers Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill and Rodney Crowell. Thornton is best known for his Academy Award-winning acting, writing and directing. However, music remains his first love. He describes the Boxmasters sound as "electric hillbilly", which he says is a combination of the Beatles, the Monkees and the Turtles mixed with Del Reeves, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. The band's "Christmas Cheer" CD is slated for a November 11th release. Meanwhile, fans can enjoy Thornton on stage in the action/thriller "Eagle Eye." It hit theatres over the weekend.
