Tina Turner Starts Tour
Tina Turner is back on the road. The legendary singer is slated to kick off her North American tour with a performance in Kansas City, Missouri tonight. With the "Tina Live in Concert" trek, the 68-year-old rock and soul star is reviving her concert career after eight years of retirement, and fans certainly seem to want her back. Since announcing the initial 18-date trek back in May, Turner's tour has doubled in length due to high ticket demand. She'll be playing two shows in Chicago; Los Angeles and San Jose, California; Atlanta; Boston; Washington, DC; Newark, New Jersey; Uniondale, New York; and Toronto. In addition, the U.S. and Canadian dates are just the start of what's turned into a world tour for Turner, which will keep her on the road for six months. She's set to launch her international dates January in Germany.
In addition, a Tina Turner compilation -- including two new songs -- hit stores Tuesday in conjunction with the singer's fall tour. The 18-track "Tina!" boasts a mix of hits along with live material spanning her career.
