Dandy Warhols Make Collaborating Fun
Collaboration is a great thing in music, and The Dandy Warhols are making the most of it. Pitchforkmedia.com reports the band has opened up their Portland-based Odditorium recording studio for acts over the past year to take part in a massive collaborative project. The musicians would drop by the studio to record song parts or build upon already created backing tracks that were provided by other acts. The end result is what the band is calling the "Breathe Easy" project. A series of 12 completed tracks will soon arrive with proceeds going to the Three Rivers Conservancy. Among the acts that have recorded for the project include Spoon, The Bravery, J. Mascis, David J., Swervedriver, The Raveonettes, The Black Angels, The Kooks, Saul Williams, The Switches, Spindrift, and Midnight Movies. The first track is expected to surface at MySpace Music and other digital outlets October 21st.
