Mark Wills Gets Special Treat During Visit to the Troops
Mark Wills got a special treat during his fifth trip overseas to entertain American troops. While on a layover in Kuwait, Wills met up with three of the men whose lives were portrayed in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers." Wills admits he's a history buff, and says getting to sit down and chat with "Babe" Heflin, Wild Bill Garner and Donald Malarkey was a thrill and an honor. He says the time flew by as he listened to them share their stories from World War Two. Wills adds that he was a little ashamed about the times he had whined about being too hot in his protective body armor when he heard the veterans' stories about what they had endured in France. He says the entire nine-day trip to Iraq was amazing, and the soldiers made it obvious that they really appreciated him coming. Wills adds that he returns from each trip more thankful for what he has and even more thankful to be an American. |
