Phil Spector's Retrial To Begin
Phil Spector's retrial is scheduled to begin Thursday in Los Angeles. The legendary producer is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson, who died of a gunshot wound to her mouth in the foyer of Spector's Los Angeles-area mansion. Spector has claimed that Clarkson took her own life, but he's been accused of the fatal shooting. It's the second time prosecutors have brought the charge against Spector. Last year his case finally came to court. That trial, which lasted nearly six months, ended in a mistrial, since the jury could not reach a unanimous decision. However the panel was split ten-to-two in favor of conviction. |
