Demi Lovato Opens Up About Being Bullied
She might be a rising star in the Disney world now, but singer and actress Demi Lovato says that didn't stop her from being bullied by mean girls throughout the seventh grade. According to "People" magazine, Lovato endured so much bullying she ended up leaving the classroom to be home schooled. The 16-year-old co-star of Disney's "Camp Rock" said on Wednesday's "Ellen DeGeneres Show" she couldn't understand back then why she was being bullied. She adds that being a working actress probably made her an easy target because she had such a different lifestyle to everyone else. Lovato plans to put her experiences with bullying to a good cause. She says she plans to help other girls who are being bullied because she realizes not everyone can just drop out and be home-schooled as she did. Lovato will appear alongside the Jonas Brothers in "Camp Rock 2," set to air next year. Her first album "Don't Forget" is available in stores now.
