Fall Out Boy Does Care
Fall Out Boy does care, no matter what may be inferred from the title of their new single. In fact, the band has donated 50-thousand-dollars to fight against California's Proposition 8 which seeks to ban gay marriage. Same sex marriages were legalized in California this year, but an amendment is seeking to overturn the decision. Bassist Pete Wentz says in a statement, quote, "We believe government shouldn't legislate love. Vote no on Proposition 8." The bassist added in a blog, quote, "I'd love to tell you the story of how we got someone to donate a bunch of money to fight Proposition 8, but I am not allowed to. You may be able to tell from the video. I'll let you have at it."
"I Don't Care" is featured on the boy's new album "Folie A Deux" which hits stores November 4th. Other tracks include, "Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes," "America's Suitehearts," and "West Coast Smoker." |
