Quick Bits
Back in April, "American Idol Gives Back" raised more than 64-million dollars for charity. Six months later, the funds have been split up among six U.S. and international charities. E!Online reports Bono, Annie Lennox and Carrie Underwood are among big names handing out large chunks of the money to a charity of their choice. Bono accepted a ten-million dollar check which he handed to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS. Lennox received 500-thousand dollars to give to her Treatment Action Campaign. Underwood's ten-million dollars went to Save the Children. Since "American Idol Gives Back" began back in 2007, the organization has raised over 140-million dollars for charity.
