Get Up Kids Get Back Together
The Get Up Kids split in 2005, but they still have the itch to play together. The group will give it a scratch this Sunday by playing a hometown show in Kansas City. Singer Matt Pryor tells "The Kansas City Star" that this current one-off may expand into something bigger. The vocalist says that next year marks the tenth anniversary of the group's biggest record, "Something To Write Home About." Pryor says the band had already been in touch with Vagrant Records about doing an anniversary edition release and a DVD with a photo book when the idea to play some shows came about. The singer says this past summer all the band members finally agreed to the reunion, leaked the news, and then denied it, quote, "just to be contrary." Pryor says they had planned to wait until next year, but then thought it would be fun to just show up and play a gig. |
