Franklin, Rice To Play Benefit Concert In Philadelphia Tonight
Philadelphia is hosting the "Queen of Soul" in a unique musical collaboration tonight. Aretha Franklin and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will play a benefit concert at the City of Brotherly Love's Mann Center. Franklin and Rice -- who is a classically-trained pianist -- will perform as part of the same lineup for one night only. Rice is scheduled to perform selections from Mozart, along with songs that feature Aretha on vocals. The duo will also team up on songs from Franklin's new album, "A Woman Falling Out Of Love." Joining the two American icons tonight is the Philadelphia Orchestra led by conductor Rossen Milanov. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m. local time. The performance will raise funds for programs to support inner city children in Philadelphia and The Mann Center education programs. For more information or tickets, visit www.manncenter.org.
